Biography

RaSandra (RAw•SAND•rAH) Daniels is the fraternal twin of RaShayla and a devoted believer, actor, artist, stunt performer, writer and entrepreneur of a multi-media production company called Light Red LLC. A true Texican, RaSandra was born in East, Texas and raised by her mother, Carol, and grandparents, Chip and Sandi, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Attending High School at La Cueva, RaSandra graduated with honors in the top ten percent of her class, played varsity basketball, received the Most Improved and Defensive Player of the Year awards, and was a founder and President of the Black Student Union.

Continuing her education at Texas Tech University, RaSandra graduated as a third-generation legacy. Her twin sister, brother, Ronnie, mother, Aunty Cheryl, and grandfather, Chip, are all Red Raiders! RaSandra graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Art, minoring in Electronic Media and Communications. Through the fire, literally and metaphorically, RaSandra became one of the first students to graduate in the Capstone Curriculum that allowed her to choose not just one fine art specification but seven (drawing, painting, film and digital photography, metal-smithing, ceramics, and multi-media design), while also studying acting and Electronic Media and Communications. Along with her studies, RaSandra was a member of President’s Select, instrumental in recruiting for football (including Patrick Mahomes), basketball, baseball and academics. She also worked for her twin in the Office of Athletic Communications and as a server at the greatest place to see a movie, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

After graduating, RaSandra worked on her first feature film with her sister on Independence Day Resurgence. The long hours and eight miles a day of running and shooting aliens take-after-
take solidified her belief this was the career for her- there’s never a dull day on set! RaSandra’s on-set experience continued as a stand-in for Parisa Fitz-Henley (“Midnight, Texas”), Wunni Mosaku (“Mission Control”), and Sydelle Noel (“The Night Shift”) to name a few, all whom became inspiration and valuable mentors to RaSandra. She found herself serving actors Morgan Freeman and Tommy Lee Jones in “Just Getting Started”, where they provided a plate full of motivation. Fate took RaSandra and her twin back to her alma mater for “A Seat at the Table” with Solange Knowles. The twins were featured in not just one, but two music videos, “Don’t Touch My Hair” and “Cranes in the Sky”, embodying their natural beauty and feminine power trademarked in Solange’s music and fashion.

Through every project, RaSandra is energized by every artist she meets and is determined to grow in her craft. RaSandra signed with Lynette O’ Connor at the O’Agency in New Mexico, aspiring to reach the best of the best in a quickly growing and thriving market. Keeping with the best, RaSandra received training from Lora Cunningham at the Albuquerque Actors’ Studio. RaSandra’s progress was so profound, she not only continued to take future advanced classes with Lora but it was the first time she cried over the beauty of her work and its potential.

From music and sports to painting and creating, every hobby and passion is dedicated to influencing RaSandra’s journey as an artist. The desire to pursue stunts came from RaSandra’s love for athletics. While she initially thought she would grow up to be a professional athlete in the WNBA, destiny led her to become a professional athlete in film and television as a stunt performer. A show choir and gospel choir background set the grounds for RaSandra’s love to sing and perform. Some find her most surprising passion to be rapping, as she has been writing rhymes since she was a child. Whether it’s a stage or a screen, RaSandra’s passion to perform continues to thrive.

Hiking 221 miles of the Appalachian Trail in 21 days prepared RaSandra for roles like “Summit 21", “Urantia” and every role that called for the survivor. Her first time hiking, she was challenged to find her own water along the way, carry 55 pounds of food and shelter, and keep moving forward no matter the elements or swelling of the feet. By the end, she had a deepened love to embrace nature and overcome any mountain. The Appalachian mentality carried RaSandra through her stunt training at L.A. Stunts in Buford, Georgia, where she trained high falls, low falls, car hits, fight choreography, fire burns, air ram, ratchet work and more.

An artist is forever a student and likely a teacher. RaSandra found her passion for teaching as substitute teacher for middle and high schoolers, teaching everything from art, choir and Shakespeare to P.E., Senate, drama and English. If there was a way RaSandra could inspire the youth, she took it and went the distance. Whether it was teaching a gospel unit, participating in productions like “Brother’s Grimm Spectaculathon” or painting the school in spirit, RaSandra taught her students how to BOOMSHAKALA- live everyday ready to slam dunk! Eventually, RaSandra had to live as the example she preached and stepped back from teaching to devote her attention full-time to art and acting. Tasha Smith’s Actors Workshop and teachers, like Tasha Smith and Tiffany Black, reinvigorated a new motivation and method for acting for RaSandra. Tiffany’s tough teaching pushed RaSandra to another level when she reached Sag-Aftra status.

A new level means new destinations! RaSandra signed with international agent, Renu Chawla of Vamos Talento, based in the UK and Los Angeles. On the road to winning, RaSandra had the opportunities to film with directors Jeff Thomas on ABC’s season 2 premiere of “Big Sky” and Andy Armstrong on up his upcoming thriller, “Squealer.” Even currently, the thrill remains with RaSandra as she prepares to film an upcoming thriller with director Levin Garbisch called “Spiral into the Yellow Void”.

Thank you for following RaSandra’s journey as she lives to achieve her highest potential as an artist. There are no small roles or opportunities as every moment adds to RaSandra’s purpose to make a lasting impact as an artist. Motivated by passion and the Holy Spirit, RaSandra’s dreams are as big as her God, which is why she says, “My soul is not limited to the confinements of my body, my body is limited to the confinements of my soul.”
